I have been tossing around the idea of investing in a digital SLR for a little while now and its climbing the priority list. After taking a poll from SLR owners that I know a friend lent me her Nikon D40. It’s easy to say that I love the camera but I still need to make some comparisons before I pull out the wallet. There is also a little voice in my head telling me I don’t need to make such a hefty purchase quite yet since I am not a purist and photoshop is my friend regardless of what kind of camera I use. I do admit carrying around what looks like a professional camera makes you consider your composition a little bit more before the snap and there really is no denying the photo quality compared to a meek point and shoot.
What really makes me laugh here though is that once I downloaded all my shots, I couldn’t resit the urge to make them look more like film quality by adding vignettes and holga-esque contrast/saturation to the photos. So the toss up here is digital camera to make my images film-like or a toy camera.

This is a design I did for an event presented by Level10. The logo was designed by my good friend by Curtis Elliott. That’s a wrap!

Allow me to introduce you to Monday. He is a little fella who’s got the blues. He never gets enough sleep and he really sucks at goodbyes. Somehow, he still remains hopeful that there will be a time were he enjoys getting up in the morning and starting the week off right.
I designed this little guy yesterday to commemorate Monday but with it being Monday and all I never got around to posting it. So here, on Tuesday is Monday.

I am behind on my projects!! Good thing there are no grades in this class huh? I really enjoyed this one involving crochet. Granny squares are so fun. I am almost tempted to attempt a blanket. Whoa, I just said that.

Tonight, I took a break from making stuff. That’s right, no illustration, no craft projects (I am so behind), no productivity, zip. I think I was over compensating for my decision not to go do laundry. In other words, it was an all or none kind of evening and I went with none. Since I really am not ok with this (enter long explanation of overachiever complex here) and finding myself incredibly bored, I am at least posting to this here blog.
After watching Royal Tenenbaums, scarfing down some fast food, abusing twitter, and playing with the cat I cruised through some very old photos. Given my shaky hands, there was a common theme of out of focus shots and some of them that I actually really like. So in the spirit of not doing anything, no retouching has been done to these. Enjoy!
